Pumpkin Patch

Kendal, Grammie and Grandpa picking out pumpkins (wish her cousins were here too).

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Even after art class this morning Kendal is still ready to color.

Even though I am super busy today I thought we couldn't leave for the weekend without a picture and to say...HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Oops I did it again. I didn't know the new camera was this way too, sorry. Listen carefully to what Twinkles says.

Is this a mischief face or what???
Today at our playgroup the kids got to dress up in their costumes. This is the only picture I took before they all took their costumes off, not sure why it was only 94 degrees out. The UPS man, Snow White and The Boxer. When I asked Kendal if she had fun she said, "fun with Miss Michele, Riley Beau and Royce."

Grammie came to visit Twinkles and me on Monday. We went to the fabric store (which Kendal loves BTW) and just hung out. Harley definitely wanted to be a part of things but she better think fast with Ms. Kendal. Nice TCU collar Harley!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE JEFF

As some of you know one of Kendal's favorite songs is Happy Birthday. It never fails that at least 30 times a day I have to sing Happy Birthday to various people and pets. Since today is Uncle Jeff's birthday I thought what a great opportunity for Kendal to finally put her singing skills to the test, I was wrong. While she managed to continually sing Happy Birthday she wouldn't sing it to Uncle Jeff on the phone (no surprise since she knew she was being tested). So all day I got to hear Happy Birthday Uncle Jeff and (as the day progressed Uncle Jeff sometimes became Uncle Deff) while Jeff is still waiting to hear from Kendal.

Weekend

A favorite pastime, Kendal in Target. Did you know that for $1.50 you can get popcorn and a drink...I've never heard her be so quiet and really how else would I get my shopping done?

Today I attempted to plant flowers but somehow got my attention refocused on Kendal when she saw Brian's skateboard. While I was gathering my planting supplies Kendal saw the skateboard sitting in the garage and said, "Kendal on the surfboard" (don't even ask me where she learned surfboard...my CA beach babe). So, I brought it out of the garage and went around the corner when I came back she was standing on it. Needless to say, my flowers never got planted.

Daddy was so proud with this photo! Kendal goes over to the guitar and says, "daddy's guitar." Daddy couldn't move fast enough to put the guitar in her hands. I'm sure he will teach her Guitar Hero and they will be battling it out in no time.

Okay this was a dry run for Halloween. Surprisingly Kendal didn't mind the costume but over time the neckline did get a little stretched making for a somewhat ghetto Snow White. Nevertheless she will be wearing it on Halloween, boys turn your heads.

Today

Kendal trying on mommy's necklace.

We met Riley & Royce at the bookstore today, those boys are so sweet to her. If you look closely you can see Kendal holding the camera case on her sholder which she sometimes calls "her purse" (one of many).

Daddy got a new golf club so he said, "Kendal do you want to see my new golf club?" she said, "yes." She proceeds to the door that goes to the garage, she wants to go out so daddy follows her. She goes over to daddy's golf clubs, stands, points and says, "daddy's golf clubs." He was so proud!

Picking out Uncle Jeff's Birthday card.

A few new pics

We met some friends at the pool today. I had to run a few errands first but the second she saw me with my bathing suit on (which was at least 3 hours before we were meeting) she said, "Kendal suit on, Kendal pool". There's no fooling this child so don't even try...

Although I did manage to fool her here.
Isn't this the greatest? Let's hope she keeps up her enthusiasm for cleaning.

Grammie and Kendal painting

Grammie, Kendal and Grandpa before the football game...she was up until 11:00pm, such a trooper!
We also saw a picture of Ranger, the Bonjour's dog, today and she remembered him from 2 months ago...she said, "Hi Ranger".

"It's totally normal"

That's the phrase that people swear by but forget normal...what about my sanity? Today was the first day that for a split second I actually thought I could stick Kendal out with a sign that read, "Free to good home". What is it about kids and sleep or is it the infamous "Terrible Twos/Threes" I keep hearing about?!? Whatever the heck it is it's, it's exhausting. As Brian headed out for the airport tonight I knowingly asked him when I actually see the benefits of our discipline...oh yeah, in about 25 years (+/-). Are our parents really laughing at us for some sort of payback for our own screw ups in life...but this is only the beginning...hmmm.

Update...after several hours of sleep Kendal is back to her normal, happy self that we all love and adore. Today she met two of her friends at the park and then we went to the bookstore so she could play with the trains and we could read some books.

Oh and Kendal's toe is doing better with the antibiotics, thankfully!

Bad toe

Okay you can't really tell from this photo but Kendal's big toe is not only red and swollen but it has an ingrown toenail that's infected. What you also can't tell from the picture is the red line that goes up her foot, clearing indicating an infection. Thankfully I took her to the Dr. today who prescribed antibiotics (side note..he also heard her talking and said that she was talking really well - no surprise for those who know her). Even though she is miserable and will not sleep without me holding her, I hope the antibiotics will help her heal quickly...she is in such pain.

Kendal with daddy's phone

Daddy blowing up the alligator, Kendal super excited!

Yesterday

A rare moment, Kendal happy in her car seat!

One of Kendal's favorite things to do right now is to open and close doors, especially the pantry. So, she wants you to get in the pantry and then she closes the door and laughs.

Whew

When we checked in the lady at the front said they had a new baby cow, apparently Kendal heard this because every 5 minutes after that Kendal would say to me, "Kendal go see the cow". I kept reminding her that it would only be a few more minutes until we saw the cow so then she would say, "Kendal go see cow in minute"...here's Kendal and the cow!

Kendal picking her pumpkin

Kendal's pumpkin

I am exhausted! Today with our mom's group we went to Mother Nature's Farm, it's an outdoor area where you can pick and decorate a pumpkin, go for a hay ride and see the farm animals. I don't have to tell you how much the kids loved it, you can probably guess, but it was fun to see the kids so excited. They ate, played, jumped in the jump house, rode the wagon, went through the maze and petted animals....I think I'm more worn out they they were!

Back in business

Horray, the camera works and it doesn't have a black dot on the lens! Today was also the day that I actually got Kendal to wear a bow that she didn't take it out (being an infant doesn't count). Honestly I think she thought it looked pretty because she would tell me she had a "bow in".

Here are a few pics from today. As you can see Kendal loves this alligator (so much that when we put it in the shower to "hide" it from her she says, "alligator in the shower"). She also has been really excited about purses lately...she carries them around on her sholder with her arm sticking straight up as if it's going to fall off. This picture was taken today after she found my purse from Saturday night. Oh and check out the photo where I am taking the picture (but don't judge...we just got back from the gym), she's totally smiling!

Desperate for a new camera

Well, the camera battery is dead and I cannot find the charger...this is the reason you haven't seen any new posts....I am so lost!!!

Date with Grandparents

While Brian and I attended a friend's 60th Birthday my parents took Kendal for the day and night. They went to the U of A football game and to feed the horses at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch. Of course Kendal had a blast but if they keep her too long she's not going to want to come home!
