Resolution

As the first month of 2011 is quickly coming to an end I thought it might be a good opportunity to start my new year's resolution, to attend church more often (even if I went twice it would be more often than I went in 2010, so basically I can only go up, right?). I decide that today is the day. I work like hell to make it to service so with 10 minutes until service starts I head out the door with Kendal and Beckett. I am torn, I would like to try one church but I am not quite sure if they have childcare, the other church I know does (but given the pictures I saw online everyone looks quite old and even the "after service" section didn't look too thrilling) but do I turn it down just because everyone looks old on the website? Both are close so I decide on the younger looking Christian Church, I do a drive by (because of course I do not have enough time before the service starts to do a thorough investigation), I don't see any kids going in. Dang, church number 2 it is. I drive like hell because by now I have approximately 2 minutes until service starts and that's not taking into account that I have to check my children in the classroom. We arrive and pretty much run to the sanctuary after all I have no idea where the childcare is but it is a church so someone is more than happy to help, right? Luckily I find a guy and he does, whew. I check Kendal and Beckett in (separate classrooms so it takes an extra 5 minutes). Beckett cries but I leave and head to the sanctuary at least 10 minutes late, everyone is standing and so I quickly grab a seat. I think, "OK I've made it now I can breath." I glance around the sanctuary, yep, I am the youngest by at least 50 years the website definitely did not lie. Time for Hymn and I sing, the pastor takes over and begins to talk but of course I start coughing, sporadically at first and then full on. Are you kidding? I get up, move through the people and excuse myself to the restroom because by now my eyes are watering and I can't stop coughing. I gather my breath and head back out but continue coughing. Oh man, I think, I can't go back in there, they're probably all thinking...1) who is this young chick and 2) she's gonna get me sick. So I hang by the water fountain (I can still hear the service so I consider it acceptable), I sit down behind the doors and basically in the hallway. Even though the pastor was a guest pastor from the sister church in Mexico and spoke Spanish with an interpreter (pausing even 3 words to translate), in between my coughing fits and missing the first part of the hour, I decide that I still attended church and I am well into my New Year's Resolution. However, I just might try another church next week. Stay tuned;)

Kendal and Beckett at a Birthday party this weekend (Becks apparently put down one spoon for the picture).

The birthday girl turns 2 (too funny)!

Beckett is all about football so when he sees a helmet he pats his head and says, "football". Tonight he pointed to the helmet and said football so on it went.

Kendal went to a birthday party at a Karate place, she loved it. The kids did fun moves and played a few games with the teacher but poor Kendal, she is always the shortest.

Horse fans

Believe it or not but Kendal cannot get enough of horses. Last weekend in Tucson we drove by a parking lot that had ponies set up so of course we stopped. It was great Kendal hopped right on while Beckett was a little more hesitant but given his double pink eye infection, double ear infection and cold he did pretty good.

Do I see a cheerleader/sorority pose in the works?

Does Kendal look old here or what?!

Some friends of ours (Eve and Chloe, many thanks) gave Kendal medium sized horses. How they knew that we if fact did not have that size of horses (we do however have mini, large and very large ones so it's perfect). I don't have to tell how you how much she loves them, she carries them all around it's so sweet.

It's so fun to interact with Camden these days. He is really starting to notice his surroundings and really making an effort to "talk", we've even heard him giggle. Last night I actually heard him giggle in his dream (I think he was dreaming about me or the angels:) I wish I could savior every moment, they are so precious!

Sandwich

Again....poor Camden (and it's only the beginning)

Stripes, Stripes and Stripes
(Beckett makes the funniest face when he says cheessssse)

Camden is really starting to smile and it's so fun to watch him notice you, smile and try to talk. However right now he mostly coughs when he tries to coo but it's coming...
(notice Beckett nearby).

Guess who learned to take his shirt off? Just as we were ready to go out the door I looked at Beckett and here he was...

Aunt Patti and Uncle Lee got matching Pj's for everyone, here is Beckett and Kendal ready for bed. They look so pleasant here, if only this was always the case.

Brian and I decided to try P90X. Over the weekend we went and bought resistance bands, a mat and a pull-up bar. I have to say that I haven't done that many push-ups since Jr. High and believe me we don't even need to talk about pull-ups. Anyway, here is Beckett and Kendal testing out the equipment.

Holiday Fun

I know it will come as no surprise that our lives are hectic here but we love it that way (don't we Brian?!). Needless to say the blog has gone has taken a backseat mostly becuase i'm too tired at night to post and during the day I have no extra free time to sit down let alone to write. Amongst the craziness I mananged to misplace, not lose just misplace, the camera battery which means that I have not been able to take any pictures (of course because the battery is dead). This itself has almost pushed me into a depression since I'm not able to document like I want to, haha! At any rate here are a few pictures from the last three weeks. I have zero pictures from our Christmas in Hawaii but we had a marvelous time on the beach, whale watching, going to the aquarium and just relaxing...I think it's time to go back!!!

The Rose Bowl
We headed to Pasadena to watch TCU play in the Rose Bowl. Brian and me, my parents and the Bonjours all had a wonderful time cheering on TCU as they dominated Wisconsin (ok maybe dominated isn't the right word but it doesn't sound as exciting if I just write that TCU won by the skin of their teeth)! Below is an ariel view of the stadium, it was 75% very loud Wisconsin fans and 25% TCU fans but it made it that much better when TCU beat the Badgers!

A monumental event

The tailgate...and you thought Santa already came. The great thing about TCU games is that we like to support the team or tailgate but what does it matter anyway, we're there. Brian and I had about 60 of our friends attend the game. We rented a bus and the die hards (see picture below) got to the stadium 4 hours early. PS - you'll have to research "Little Sisters of the Poor" if you're that curious.

What do you think of when you think of The Rose bowl? That's right, the parade. While the die hards hit the stadium some of us hit the parade. The parade was amazing and you find yourself asking the question over and over again, how in the world do they build these floats, it's incredible. Here is a picture of what would have been one of Kendal's favorite floats - the princess castle that has a horse that moves in and out (her other favorite...ariel on a horse)! Ah it was like a knife through the heart every time I saw a float go by, I knew the kids would have loved to have seen them but they had fun time with Aunt Nikki and Uncle Ryan.

Every year the Phoenix Zoo displays lights throughout the zoo and this year over 3 million were set up. To slowly ease back into real life from our holiday travels we took the kids and Aunt Nikki and Uncle Ryan to see the lights. Of course we had to hit the merry-go-round so here you go. We hope you all had as wonderful Christmas break as we did!
