Happy Birthday Daddy

Last Friday was Brian's Birthday. As you can imagine I had "helpers" decorating the house and cake. Happy Birthday Brian, we love you!

I have to take responsibility for the red letting, Kendal did the green smiley face on top (mommy obviously ran out of time to make a cake)

Ball Popper

One gift that Beckett got for his Birthday was this ball popper both he and Kendal love it!

Random

Of all the toys Beckett got for his birthday I constantly find him and/or Kendal in the plastic container playing.

Pirate Party

This weekend we celebrated Beckett's 1st Birthday with friends and family. Grammie, Grandpa, Nana and Granda were all able to make the celebration and what fun we had. I decided to go with the pirate theme and much to my surprise there was a decent amount of pirate (thanks partially to Halloween) decorations. Take a look...

Who doesn't do "touchdown" when they're eating delicious dessert?

Given that it was so HOT several guests swam (although my family is the only people I got apparently).

Get ready to blow out your cupcake Beck!

Arrrrrgh

Guests (okay only one and her daughter) got into the theme too.

I don't have to tell you whose idea this was

Happy Birthday Beckett

One year ago today I was nausous from all the medicine but incredibly happy this "little" man entered our lives. I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed and I hope to remember every moment (keep in mind he is not 2-4 yet so remembering all of these moments are still fun). His smile and presence has brought such joy to our family that we truly cannot imagine life without him, we are thankful every day for him.

The last week

By choice the flower was back on her head but as you guessed it did not last long. Kendal does not smile much for pictures these days mostly just "poses."

I took Kendal and Beckett to open gymnastics last week and both had a ball. Beckett was of course going one direction full speed while Kendal was going another.

Grammie came up to help me organize and for a break we headed to the mall to walk around and still stay cool. The train was going so Grammie loaded the kids, what a good sport.

Girls Weekend

Every year my college girlfriends and I plan on getting together for an annual trip. Unfortunately this year was only the second time we actually did it (last time was in Vegas 8 years ago, that trip was at a little different pace than this was one was for me). We rented a house in Austin, hung out for the weekend, laughed about our college days and shared hopes for our future. It was easy to see how we all became friends in the first place, I am truly fortunate to have these girls in my life.

Daddy was on duty and did an excellent job hanging with the kids. They ran errands, went to the aquarium and even surprised me at the airport with this awesome sign Kendal made - which is the greatest gift.

Getting a group picture is not easy despite what you might think. We did set the timer but somehow we were a little off on the timing and it is less than perfect. I hope Anne doesn't kill me for posting this one but we were all in it, sorry.

Me with my two friends, Courtney and Trudy, we are all due within weeks of each other.

Cheers with our non-alcoholic beers. I can't say the rest of the girls drank this;)

Almost everyone minus one girl who had to leave, we missed you Sarah!

Just another day

Well, I'm back and real life begins again. Kendal and I made brownies for playgroup and Beckett happily playing golf (daddy will be so proud to see) with a football.

Boys

While Kendal has been in heaven at "camp" (aka - Grammie and Grandpa's house) Beckett and I have been paling around together. Today while getting ready to run errands I was loading the car seat in the car. I knew Beckett was in the garage but didn't think much of it until I heard him cry, I looked but couldn't find him...anywhere. The engines weren't running so I followed the cry until I found him under daddy's Jeep. That's right he was stuck under the car and I had to practically crawl under there to pull him out. Note to self, check check check!!!

X marks the spot where he bumped his head (this picture was taken 5 hours after he bumped his head, you can imagine how black it was after he did it, ha).

Summer cleaning

Today was a good day. It started off great when the lady in the Starbucks drive thru bought my drink just because. She must have known I have many obstacles to tackle these days and knew I needed it. Next, it was time to clean the garage for my Mother's Day present. I started the dirty work but my neighbor came over and helped me and then of course Beckett was nearby to get anything we missed (BTW - that is a My Little Pony hanging from the broom that Kendal tied on). What a wonderful day of others helping me. Next time I go to Starbucks I'm going to buy the drink for the person behind me (unless it's a van full of people;).

We had a great weekend in Tucson. Brian and my dad were in a charity golf tournament so we went early and hung out. My parents kept Kendal and today they ran errands, went to the zoo, lunch, the bookstore, Dairy Queen and swimming - I don't think she's going to want to come home!
