On a whim...

Late Friday afternoon...Brian comes home from work and says, "now before you say anything just hear me out." So far I don't like where this is going but being the attentive wife I am, I listen. He continues, "how can we get to the TCU vs. BYU football game this weekend (in Utah)." Now, two things come to mind when I hear this...1) he has already figured out the details and he is trying to convince me to go and 2) can no one else go (I am thinking Dave since he also is obsessed with TCU football and lives in Phoenix)? After 45 minutes of arranging the kids, airplane, hotel and car (and yes, he already looked at all of these variables) we get in the car to drop off the kids to the grandparents (I mean really who else besides grandparents would take the kids for an overnight last minute - did I mention that Beckett gets up twice at night and is just starting to adjust to the bottle). It is practically on the way down to Tucson that Brian mentions that Dave is coming too. Anyway, Saturday morning we head out...

Brian and Dave at the airport Saturday morning. Notice the white stick out of Dave's backpack? Oh yes, that is the TCU flag for the car.

Of course we have to buy beer to "tailgate"

Have you ever been to a college football game where you don't see anybody drinking beer in the parking lots? Everyone was so nice but they definitely looked.

Another TCU friend: Ryan, Brian and Dave

Can you guess who the third wheel was?

In the end it was all worth it and we had a blast...Go Frogs!

Aunt LaLa

We were so lucky we got to hang out with Aunt LaLa today (she is in town for a wedding). After picking Kendal up from school and running some errands Kendal said approximately 4 words. But after finally realizing that Aunt LaLa rides Thomas and Lola (her horses) Kendal quickly opened up and talked non-stop the rest of the afternoon. Most of the dialogue was about horses but she also did a dance for LaLa and showed her how she walks on her toes like a ballerina (note the picture below). We can't wait for Aunt LaLa to come back and maybe Uncle Jeff will get to come next time.

Where does she get these moves?

Okay okay so it's another dancing video but these just crack me up (she likes to dance and watch her reflection in the TV stand). Kendal was really feeling the beat I mean check out the diversity: kicks, spins, jumps...

All smiles

Just because he hasn't discovered his voice yet doesn't mean he doesn't have a good time trying. I hope you don't get sick watching this, you'll have to excuse the camerawoman.

Some pics

This past weekend was a "Meet the Baby" luncheon at Skyline Country Club in Tucson for Beckett. It was beautiful and I got to enjoy a quiet lunch with friends (Daddy brought Kendal and Beckett but they escaped shortly after seeing everyone). Here are some of my long time friends: Jamie, Taby, Sarah, Me, Kelly and Michele.

Later that evening....girl's night!

Grammie bought tickets to Disney on Ice so of course Kendal wanted to wear her princess dress to the show.

Columbus Day

The park was such a hit last week that we met our friends back there for another feeding of the ducks and running around. However, the best part of the day is when Grammie called and said she was coming up to hang out with us, we had such a good time today!

You didn't think she would forget about the princess dress that quickly, did you?

Ironically Colin showed up in his soccer jersey today...am I mistaken or is Halloween still a few weeks away? Unfortunatly I didn't get a picture of Claire, bummer.

The life of a princess is exhausting! And yes, that is choclate on her upper lip and no, that is not Beckett on her lap!

Full tummy

Don't you feel better after you eat too?!

Got a little behind...again

I'm too tired to write anything elaborate (I guess it's been that way for awhile now, since I noticed there's mostly pics on here now and not much writing - which probably makes it more interesting anyway). However, her are a few highlights from the last few days...
- Daddy made it home (5 hours late but he made it).
- Mommy got into another car accident, seriously I'm beginning to think I'm a magnet these days (and not for the right reasons).
- Family movie night was hit, "Hotel for Dogs" is a personal favorite of Kendals and she can tell you what's going to happen before it actually happens.
- Attempt #3 for getting a flu shot was unsuccessful, apparently everyone else wants one too.
- Daddy left again but only until Wednesday this time, yay!
Never a dull moment

Yep you knew it was coming, another princess dress but this time the outfit wasn't complete without the hat.
Life is so hard

Singing

For some reason Kendal wanted to get on top of this rock and sing. I suppose she thought the smaller rocks, trees & bushes were her audience...eat your heart out Miley Cyrus.

Every girl loves fur

I mean seriously who doesn't own a pair of these?
Not sure why her face is all black.

Big Day

Today was a big day for us as Kendal went to her first day of pre-preschool. I was a little curious to see how she would handle me leaving but luckily she didn't really comprehend what was going on (so we'll see how Thursday goes). The teacher said she did well and even though I have no idea what they did in class I am excited for Kendal to have this new experience...I think it was harder for me.

Kendal with her big girl backpack

After school we met up with some friends at Mother Nature's Farm. We had a great time and Kendal especially enjoyed the hay ride (it basically takes you around the lot, there's absolutely nothing to see but the kids love it).

Movin'

Beckett stretching and getting ready for his big day ahead of him.
Disclaimer - not super exciting to probably anyone but Me, Brian and Grandparents.

Monday Monday

We met our friends, Claire, Colin and Aidan at the park today (Check out Kendal's hair, can you tell I did them while she was lying down).

Round 2 with the jogging stroller, let's hope it's the last!

Weekend

Goodbye daddy, see you next weekend.
Kendal was actually enjoying pushing the peddles and riding her tricycle tonight, doesn't she look so proud of herself?!

Believe it or not but he's not always in the swing.

Guess who found the red polish for touch-ups!?!?!?!

Sleep in overrated

With the hubby gone, which is worse...having a newborn or a two-year-old that doesn't sleep much? How about all of the above. Poor Brian has bronchitis and has been put on an antibiotic, a steroid and an inhaler and is still coughing and has to travel a few weeks in a row. That being said it's amazing what 3 hours of consistant sleep will do for you, I have a whole new appreciation for single mothers (especially with more than one child)...but it is all worth it. Here are a few pics from last week.

Side note, I just realized this said "Sleep in overrated," haha I guess I really am tired.

Superstar

Claire's 2nd Birthday

I hear Kendal mumbeling so I walk around the corner and here they are...she says,"mommy I'm reading to Rusty."

The dolly is in timeout becuase she's not listening (I wonder where she heard that).
