Every rose....
...has it's thorn. Ah, what started out to be a promising day (jumping bean class and seeing the Easter Bunny) took a drastic turn at lunch. After siting very patiently with the Easter Bunny it was time for lunch with friends. Kendal NEVER misses the carousel at the mall and ALWAYS wants to ride it...being the mean mom that I am I wanted her to eat first but she wanted to ride first. So, after giving her the choices she still managed to not listen so we had to leave the mall and our friends. She continued to scream the whole way through the mall and while approaching the car my bag full of uneaten $14 food broke and dropped all over the parking lot. While I shed a few tears on the way home I thought a good nap would help us both...well, it would've if she wanted to take one! After 45 minutes of screaming and two unsuccessful attempts, I packed her up and we headed to Target for some much needed distraction (great idea until the plastic bins fell on my face, karma?). We came home, did crafts and had a good time. While the day didn't turn out a total failure (she sat on the potty without her diapers and ate more ham than mac n' cheese for dinner - both HUGE for Kendal), I am ready for this day to end!!!

Sonogram
We go this Friday for our 19 week sonogram. Most people would find out the sex of the baby at this point but due to my wonderful and understanding husband, we will be waiting to find out the sex of the baby until August.

What She's Doing Now
March 18, 2009 (2 years, 1 month)
Kendal is currently fascinated with....gymnastics and her game “Hi friends.” I was trying to teach her the importance of being friends with other kids. Well, she takes the two objects I was using (rubber ducks) and keeps one and gives one to you. Then she says, “hi friends” and makes you interact with the duck…she has adopted this with everything she can find two of.
She loves to say... “Daddy,” but it’s not daddy like we say it, it’s the condensed/fast version, “Dady.” It’s funny because she totally says it (and repeats it) until he pays attention to her…she is totally into her daddy right now.
She recently did something so funny/cute when she...started making the frown face just to see our reaction. You’ll be doing something and look over and she’s got her lip stuck out and her eyebrows squeezed together which of course makes you laugh. She is also chattering all the time (not that this is new) but she’s starting to formulate complete thoughts. For example, “the plane is in the sky, high in the sky, he comes down (meaning then he comes down), go on airplane to Zurich (meaning she was on the airplane to Zurich).
The personality trait I see beginning to develop that is rather new is...her telling me to do something, “stand here, mommy do this.”
Her favorite toy of the moment is...all of her horses, her squishy bear we got in Switzerland at a gas station and her TCU football.
I can occupy her easy by...bringing out two objects and playing “Hi Friends.”
Kendal's favorite time of day is...in the morning.
When Kendal is in a bad mood, she...kicks her legs, screams and says “NO” – this hasn’t changed.
She melts my heart when...runs over to me and gives me a hug, akiss and of course says, “I love you.”!

A week behind
WOW, how do I top that last entry?! Yesterday I was trying on new running shoes so I put on a pair of black Nike's and Kendal said, "those are boys shoes."
After two attempts of going to church we never made it. It could have due to the fact that she wanted to wear these boots but we both settled on the Crocs.
Here is the shirt and headband that Aunt LaLa got Kendal. You can't tell but it has a horseshoe on the top and it says, Giddy Up on the back (of course she loved it). She is holding the baby in a carrier behind her.
Today we went over to Peyton and Cooper's house. Kendal remembered Peyton has a huge horse stash because on the way there she said, "she got horses at her house." You can only imagine how much fun Kendal had, she didn't want to leave.

Brian here... Michelle wasn't as eager to share this story so here I am. Michelle and I were fortunate to have been invited to an exclusive event over the weekend. I don't normally get that excited when an Evite shows up via email, but this was no ordinary party invitation. We had been invited to Sam and Andrea's 1st Annual "Mustache Bash!" I was pumped (shocker)... and immediately started thinking back to the late 90's at TCU when I was always begging this good looking Tri Delt to be my date for our next rediculous theme party. Who can forget Monochromatic '97, or the great Foam Party of '98. Anyway, as you can see from the photo above with me, Rodriguez, Morgan, and Woolford... good times were had by all. Because I spent time with my boss and my bosses boss a few days prior, I was unable to represent with something as authentic as Sam's 3 month hairyness. However, I am honored to have taken home the "Most Aggressive" Mustache award for my themed outfit.
So like many aspects of life, some things never change... I still love a good theme party and continue to beg the good looking Tri Delt to be my date.

A Week in Pictures
Today started off by chasing Kendal around the house with both of us carrying footballs saying, "down, set, hike." Thank goodness we had Jumping Bean class to exert her energy, which was a huge hit, and then we met our friends at the park.
