Touchdown
It sounds a little like dada here but he does sort of say touchdown. As you can see the food all over his face/body this would be the reason I strip him down to eat!
Party in the USA
I am a little embarrassed to admit that I like this song but I do and every time it comes on I turn it up and we all dance!

Random Notes
Camera Free
Oh man why couldn't I find the camera today...
1) Beckett decided to smear bananas all over his head and chest.
2) Beckett has a video monitor in his room but being second born I usually look at the monitor and roll back over, ah he's fine. Every day when I lift him out of his crib I notice the monitor is tilted down. Here's how the morning goes...Beckett cries, I look at the monitor but can't see anything but the wall, I get up and go get him. How in the world does this keep happening? Does the crib hit it every time I take him out? That's so strange. This morning same thing happens...Beckett chatters and I look at the monitor, suddenly I see little hands pulling on the camera, ah ha, Mystery solved.
3) Kendal yells from the bathroom, "mom I need help in here." Thinking she needed help pulling up her pants or something I go in and she's sitting on the side of the sink with her legs covered (and when I say covered I mean covered in white) in sunscreen. When I asked her how she squeezed all that out of the bottle (because I seriously have to use some arm strength) she says, "that's why I had to take off the top."
Being 3
What is appealing about sitting in a car seat, in hot car with no air conditioning and screaming vs. behaving and going into the store where it is well air conditioned and their is fun stuff to look at?
Pregnancy
Apparently I am looking bigger these days because not only did my husband tell me my belly has been big for awhile now (after I said I'm getting bigger) but two people at the gym yesterday mentioned my pregnancy.
I need a shirt made that says:
Yes, I'm pregnant...again
Yes, it will be difficult...so feel free to help
No, it was not planned (hence the reason it will be difficult and not planned)
Get over it, the Mormons do this all the time can't we just pretend I am one of them, or just tell me congratulations!

San Diego
Summer in San Diego is so much more fun (and cool) than summer in Phoenix. Over the 4th of July we hit the road and headed West. We spent 9 days there (the boys went back and forth) and did a ton, Sea World, The Natural History Museum, The Space and Science Center, The USS Midway, a boat cruise around the harbor, Scripps Aquarium and the zoo. The kids had a wonderful time and I am plotting how to get back there ASAP;)
Sea World
Here we are waiting for the Shamu show
Typical....happy baby, happy Grammie, Kendal being three and dads with beer - what's not to love about Sea World?!
The Beach
July 4th
Do you all remember the Pledge of Allegiance? Well, I do and should be teaching our kids since we no longer can recite it in school!!! Anyway, here are a few pictures from the big day. Kelly got the hats and flags for the kids and of course they loved them.
OK I have to admit when we pulled up to this park to watch the fireworks I was a little skeptical, can we say ghetto! However, it turned out great. No one was out of control/crazy (in fact we were the ones pouring alcohol into our plastic cups incognito style and drinking), the band played until the fireworks appeared. It was honestly the closest I've ever been to see the fireworks and it was best show I have ever seen until they had to cut it short because one firework went sideways and hit a shed.
Beach Day
Grammie hanging on to Beckett for dear life as he tries to climb over the chair to see the guys playing a game.
Scripps/Zoo
We love going to Scripps Aquarium while we're in San Diego so this trip was no exception. They have wonderful exhibits with a little hassle free atmosphere.
Note sign in background
Grandpa and Beckett, this may be the last time you see Beck in a hat (and it's not because he doesn't need one because he does). While he managed to wear it for the picture, now he's really into pulling them off....fun for us!
Ms. Independent wanted to wear her bathing suit to the zoo somehow I convinced her to wear it under her clothes (see picture below). As you would guess half way through the day she got hot and wanted to take her shirt off because it wasn't "her bathing suit that was making her hot but her shirt!"
On a cloudy day we took a boat ride in the San Diego Harbor. It was chilly but interesting to see all the ships in the harbor.
I posted this picture of Beckett because this is how is is....BUSY and on the go!!!
We also hit the USS Midway, what an incredible sight. The aircraft carrier was one of American's longest serving aircraft carriers and is now retired in San Diego. Once on board it's amazing to see the restored aircraft and what life was like on the carrier. It should be no surprise to anyone that I don't think I would have lasted long on here, even though the ship was big the living/working quarters were not, and I would have definitely had to have a job on top of the carrier.
Back in Phoenix, sigh...
The other day Kendal said she wanted to go play golf (after seeing daddy watch the British Open on TV) so Brian took us to indoor mini golf...it was perfect! Since going to the zoo in San Diego Beckett growls at lions so when he saw this he growled, we had to take a picture. Kendal's favorite animal in the mini golf was of course, the horse.

Mini Golf and Birthday
Daddy showing Kendal how to putt...will this be the first of many?
Grammie and Grandpa brought up cake, presents and flowers to celebrate mommy's birthday!
Brian took me to a really nice restaurant (I outlawed Chili's for the big day). We ended up at T. Cooks which is the Palms Hotel in Scottsdale. Neither of us had been to the Hotel so it was extra special for us to discover this new find. The hotel was built in 1929 by a guy from back east who was wanted a winter home. The hotel these days is not big but has a sweet charm all it's own, we loved it and the food was delicious.
Saturday night Sam and Michele met us at the comedy club for my birthday, we had such a good time!

I admit...
I am behind and not just behind but really behind. We've done a lot in the last few weeks. We've celebrated birthdays, visited friends and family, extended our family (well 5 months ago we did, we just got to see a sonogram picture and no, we are not finding out the sex again;), Traveled to Texas and tomorrow we head out to San Diego for the 4th! After looking back at just the last few weeks it amazes me how quickly the time passes. Cheers to a safe holiday weekend!
Only the beginning
We knew we didn't have much time but walking already?! Every day brings more and more confidence and Beckett is now starting to stand up and walk by himself. It's amazing how far he's come in such a short period of time, now we are having to put things out of reach or he will be in the midst of everything and probably climbing over it at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry about the commentary (or my voice).
Texas Trip
For Nana's 60th Birthday we flew out to Texas for a big surprise. Granda and Aunt Nikki put together a great surprise party for Nana with all her family and friends. We had such a wonderful time meeting new people and catching up with some old friends. Although we don't miss the humidity it was nice being in a place so green.
Texas Trip
Mr. Busy "helping" me pack. Notice he is sitting on top of the suitcase with a phone cord wrapped around him, hmmm...
Thanks to our friends Kendal got to swim with her friends Emma and Juliana, don't they look too cute?!
Waaaay behind
