Grandpa's Birthday

Grammie surprised Grandpa with a weekend getaway to San Diego. Once Kendal heard of the trip she just had to be there...here are a few pictures.

Auntie Kelly and Uncle Nathan joined us for a 60th Birthday celebration, I swear Nathan is not the father.

Grammy painted her toe/finger nails for the first time. Kendal held them up for about 4 hours after so they "could dry."

Kendal is currently fascinated with....her books, we read A LOT!

She loves to say... “No, don’t do that,” she definitely wants things her way!!!

She recently did something so funny/cute when she...said, “Mommy can drive me around,” it just made me laugh.

The personality trait I see beginning to develop that is rather new is...
Her really wanting me to be involved, she gets so upset when I’m not listening and will do anything to get my attention. Also, her stubbornness and her ability to get so worked up she doesn’t know what she wants. Okay neither one of these are new but they're definitely coming through now more than ever, welcome to the “Terrible 2/3’s”. I think I can, I think I can...

Her favorite toy of the moment is...her convertible car and choo choo train.

I can occupy her easy by...Baking.

Kendal's favorite time of day is...depends on the day.

When Kendal is in a bad mood, she...Kicks her legs, screams, protests, throws herself on the floor, etc etc etc, tantrum anyone?!

She melts my heart when...I’m upset and she gives me a hug!

Obviously I made the sign but what might not be as obvious is Cinderella (hence the name and arrow) that Kendal just really wanted me to draw...we hope you had a wonderful Birthday!

Doing it herself

After trying on 3/4 of the shoes in her closet Kendal settled on her reliable tennis shoes. I had to talk her out of wearing her dress because tennis shoes sooo don't go with a dress (or a skirt).

A day of swim

For our weekly meetup with Riley, Royce, Regan and Ms. Michele we headed to the water park. I don't have to tell you how much fun we had (even Reagan had fun despite her unhappy face here)!

Over the weekend we headed to San Diego for our friend, Kelly's surprise 3oth Birthday party! We had the best time hanging out with friends and celebrating.

Coincidentally a few of our college friends were also in San Diego (Anne is lucky enough to live there with her family) so we got to get together for a quick trip to the beach. Here are the kiddos.

Karma

Yesterday I was telling Brian how there's two boys in class who are so disruptive to the rest of the class. Bam, today I have the most misbehaved child but not in class (she was perfect in class & at the gym, thankfully) it was the rest of the day that was typical of a 2-year-old having a tantrum. Ironically she wanted to wear a shirt with sparkles and the only shirt she had clean with sparkles said, "I only look sweet", perfect theme for the day!!!

Weekend

We had a nice and realxing weekend and even though I didn't get a picture of Kendal swimming with her friends or daddy jumping off the second story balcony into the pool with his friend Rob, something tells me that this won't be last time for either one.

I ran inside to get something and when I came out Kendal was sitting in the rocks with a pile of rocks in her dress perfectly content (see even a girly girl like Kendal doesn't mind getting dirty - well, a little dirty).

Kendal loved playing with Riley, Royce and Reagan today!

Kendal loves her picture grandpa...after she opened it she said,"grandpa did this for Kendal, that's pretty funny." It was hilarious.

Choo Choo

Visit to California

Brian had a charity event in LA over the weekend so of course Kendal and I joined him for the adventure. We got to tour around the beautiful Inland Empire, go to a ballet (Kendal LOVED seeing the girls dance in "tutus and sparkley dresses") and meet up with friends we haven't seen since we left Santa Clarita.

It's no surprise that Kendal spotted the train from a mile away so you can believe we were on it.
