1st Haircut

I have to point out Kendal's outfit today. As always I ask her what she wants to wear (because whatever I say she does not want, foreshadowing anyone? so it's just easier to let her pick it out herself. Anyway, she said she wanted to wear a "riding outfit." Great, go pick it out. Of course the red boots were in and she decided on the black and white stripe shirt because it matches Racing Strips (a zebra in the movie Racing Strips). Don't you love the bracelets and watch too, I love her independence on this and really wish I could be in her head.

For a lot of reasons it's hard to believe that Kendal is already 3 1/2 but I have never taken her to get her haircut (I just trim her bangs). While I've been wanting to get this done for a few weeks now we finally had the time to get it done. It's funny while waiting for Kendal's turn (which took longer than the actual haircut) I saw a photo of a baby's 1st haircut, it was at a month!

Waiting our turn

Beckett loved banging on this thing while waiting, he even got stuck behind the sign a few times.

Up and Down

Beckett did this for at least 10 minutes straight.

Busy Busy

Today we went over to a friend's house for some water fun. The kids had a blast and daddy did such a good job filling in for mommy who surprisingly did not want to get into her bathing suit.

This is only part of the slide, can you believe they own this and why is this the last weekend they are using it before fall (it's still 100 here)?!

Tripp and Beckett playing together while TCU was pulling out a victory.

Kendal leading Beckett and the horse stampede (notice the gloves and she also has her lip gloss in her hand). Note - it seems as though Beckett isn't dressed that often but he really is it's just most pictures are taken in the morning after I've stripped him down to eat (since he gets food everywhere)!

This picture also cracks me up because we are about to take Kendal to school and she is obviously instructing him on something and (he thinks she's the greatest, it's only a matter of time before he figures out she bosses him around and he's getting the short end of the stick).

Michief

While I was busy talking with the pest control guy someone was very busy creating his own mess (it was all over the office, the living room, the bathroom) ...

The culprit. I guess being this busy makes you hungry (ugh hmm the sandwich).

Weekend

If there is a TCU event within 200 miles of us you know we will be attending. On Friday night Phoenix hosted it's first ever (well since we've been here) TCU Alumni watching party. We actually had a great turn out at Fox Sports Grill and something tells me we'll be back there really soon.

This picture is funny because I took the kids to Dairy Queen on Saturday. I got a blizzard for me and Becks and Kendal got an ice cream cone. After Becks and I devoured our blizzard he kept looking at the bottom and putting his spoon in there like he was thinking, where did it go? So of course he was eying Kendal's ice cream and surprisingly she shared...willingly.

I thought I needed some one-on-one time with Kendal so at the last minute I took her to get her nails done. She of course picked out sprinkles, hot pink and she also got a flower...she loved it and it was nice to have some Kendal time.

Kendal had a friend over for a playdate after school on Friday. Here is a picture of the girls painting.

Boys and Girls

Everyday I am amazed how boys and girls are programmed differently, the things that Beckett comes up with Kendal would never come up with (he likes to throw balls and climb everything while she runs on her toes and loves to do art projects). The other day Kendal said, "he's hitting me on the head" so I finally peaked around the corner and Beckett was throwing the beach ball at her to catch only she just sat there and let the ball hit her on the head...are you kidding me? It's so fun to watch them explore in completely different ways, we are so blessed.

Kendal had a princess party to go to this weekend and boy did she love it, she even wore her tierra to show and tell today (of course she didn't forget the princess wand too).

Here is the outfit she wore to school last Friday (I swear she comes up with these things on her own).

And here is her brother doing all manner of boy things, here he's walking around the house with the dog's water bowl on his head

And a Tonka helmet

Just being his sweet self (but when he knows he's not supposed to do something like throw food from the table he'll do it, look at me and shake his head back and forth no no no no....)

All boy

Is he all boy or what?!?!
